2005 Carolina Skiff V238 BOAT OWNER'S NOTES:
I bought the v238 Carolina Skiff new in 2004 and set in storage for 5 years before being used, the boat was meticulously rigged to meet the most wanting needs of any fisherman. The 1995 Evinrude 150hp 60 degree power head was rebuilt as the boat was being rigged, the motor has run flawless since the time it hit the water. The engine sits on a manual 6'' jack plate which has been a big help in fine tuning the motor height and now only has 113 hours and I felt so confident in my rig that several months back I went out 43.5 miles out of longboat and knocked the snapper and grouper dead and it didn't miss a beat. Here's a rundown on the options and the rigging are as follows.
28 rodholders, stick-it anchoring system with front and back mounts, 25 gal livewell W/1100 gph pump, custom oversize bimini top less than a year old, custom 54 gal. gas tank with sight guage added as well as the electrical guage, 3 group 27 batteries ( 6 months old ) custom made canvas console cover, along with a full front to back canvas cover, shelf under console, oversize XL carolina skiff center console , tackle center added to front of console, full custom cushion set made matching the bimini and boat graphics, full coast guard package ( I was stopped and had a full check and passed with flying colors, boat runs out at 43mph at 5500 rpm and cruises at 33mph at 4000 rpm at 10 gph, heave duty galvanized trailor with new hubs and bearings replaced about 6 months, 4 brand new tires with new spare also, it has (2 sonar machines 1 is color and the other is black and white with 2 separate tranducers ran, lowrance GPS with charts of the waterways, vhf radio, no feedback helm, front enclosed casting deck for a hugh dry storage area, optional front and back bow and srern rails, console grab rail, leaning post w/4 rodholders, s/s prop with spare aluminum prop, I added a glove box to the center console, it has a full complement of gauges, the motor has been serviced regular and due for one now and will have the complete service done before the boat is sold, NOW FOR THE OVERALL ON THE BOAT, I WOULD RATE THIS BOAT AROUND A 8.5 TO A 9 ON A 10 SCALE, ONLY BECAUSE IT NOT QUITE AS SHINY AS A 2011 BOAT, ( BUT SHINY DON'T CATCH FISH ), I'm gonna sell this boat rig for $12,000 and to replace it would cost way more than double that, if your looking for a boat that was completely thought out in the rigging process and left no stones un-turned for being as pratical as possible, this boat is for you, boat demos for serious buyers only, the only thing you need to go fishing in this turn key ready boat is the ignition key and I have it.
